My name is Rose Waverly Daniels—I model for JEA, I’m an (aspiring) writer-to-be; I’ll be attending Ole Miss when that path aligns accordingly, and until then, I’m a titan at Ridgeland High School, where I play the French horn in the marching & concert band. I am also the past president of my school’s GSA, and, most recently, I appeared in the Ole Miss Chucky Mullins movie with the other senior members of the RHS Titan band to act as members of the Ole Miss band from 1989! There aren’t a lot of things I don’t like doing—math, putt-putt, math—and I do consider myself a people person. I enjoy modeling because it always manages to find a different way of asking the same question: what do you want to put out there? And as a writer and a model, that question always bears a lot of weight with me. And what I really love about the industry is that it requires a solid sense of self before entering, but even then, it gives your sense of self a chance to grow in a way that not many other professions would allow, and so for that, I am immensely thankful. I’ve only been modeling for a year this December, but I can safely say that I am much different now than I was prior to being signed. I’m a whole seventeen years old, and I’ve almost always been interested in designers and outfits, and the volumes that those two mediums can project.
I do consider myself a very stylish person—my inspirations being Alex Turner & Hedi Slimane from Saint Laurent—and I have, more often than not, been compared to teen heartthrob Harry Styles. You either see it or you don’t, I guess, but I’ve never taken it as an insult. Whoever’s reading, it’s an honor to meet you, and without further ado—hello, MTV, and welcome to my crib.
